Ivan Teofanov Konstantinov, Associate Professor PhD

Scientific area
Physical chemistry (nucleation and crystal growth); mechanism of the photographic process (electrochemical processes in the development of thin films); photolithography (dry resist with high resolution for recording and reproduction of submicron structures); media for digital laser recording of information; methods for predicting and determining the optical parameters of thin films

Scientific achievements

  • Application of a unique method for the quantitative verification of the Gibbs-Thomson equation in the case of photographic development and based on the classical thermodynamic theory of the formation and growth of a new phase;
  • the sharp change in the developability of the latent image centres upon their growth by 1-2 silver atoms was explained for the first time;
  • development of an inorganic photoresist with extreme resolution and technology for the production of optical scales, gratings, metal templates, and others
